Context

This is a doodle I drew during a meeting today. Just a plain old tortoise, biro on office paper. One of those pictures you’re drawing and you don’t know what’s going to come out. What’s that tortoise doing? Nosing along the ground eating some grass, perhaps.
Later in the meeting, still not really thinking, I added some shadow.
Today’s basic lesson is, a small change like this can add context. Now my tortoise is jumping in the air. A line showing the ground level a few centimetres below him would have done the same job.
*Sigh*. Sometimes I have to learn the same simple truths over and over again. Ah well, at least I’m making you learn them with me.
