    Weekend draw: Rubbing

Another great week! Here’s the round-up:

    > On Monday, neatfreaks everywhere shifted uncomfortably in their chairs as I suggested cracking open the felt tips and giving your home a unique makeover.
    > On Tuesday, I announced the winner of our competition, and posted about rubbings*.
    > On Wednesday, I tackled the huge subject of drawing with words.
    > On Thursday, we had our first ever guest post from Darryl Cunningham. I am eager to recruit new guest posters! It could be you! Srsly! Let me know!
    > Finally, on Friday, I got dangerously close to dabbling in a subject I know nothing about: Zen.

Clearly the topic for this week’s draw has to be a rubbing. Show me what you’ve got in the raised surface area, baby. Have a great weekend and don’t forget that all these posts remain open for your incisive comments.

    * Side note: On my way home from work tonight, in the gathering twilight, I passed two figures kneeling on the pavement of Egremont Place in Brighton. Curious to see what they were doing, I peered down, only to see them remove a sheet of A4 paper, covered with blue chalk pastel: they’d been making an impression of a manhole. I’m sure they are not Draw Anyway readers: let’s face it, you lot are a pretty small proportion of the world population. But it led me to wonder just how many people in the world are making rubbings of manholes at any one moment. Which is the sort of thinking that will get you nowhere, believe me.
