Discuss: easy to draw, hard to draw
Is there a subject you find particularly difficult to draw, no matter how many times you try? And, more encouragingly, is there something that always comes out looking just right?

Hard to draw - the area around the corners of the mouth. The ends of noses - I find it so hard to get the shape and the shading of the nostrils right.
Things that usually come out right - animals for some reason, maybe because faces with fur are easier to represent!
I also feel happy with the way I draw hands and feet. Perhaps I spend longer looking at them than I do at peoples’ faces.
Yes, you can kind of fudge with fur, and add a bit more if you need to. Makes you wonder why all furry animals aren’t great portrait artists.
Your hands and feet are very good.
I don’t find it so difficult to draw anything with reference, but take it away and i’m absolutely stumped and revert back to glorified stick men. I would really love to be able to draw my idea but i can’t so i end up making them instead which I guess isn’t such a bad thing!
i find flowers really nice to draw and cats are quite fun if you just go with it and not worry too much about a whole.
Faces and eyes, they’re tough.
Oh actually.. coming in at number one is hands.
so i tend to kind of skirt over them. teach me how to draw hands! (I think it’s probably just practise isn’t it?) Infact in the same way that when I was little I never used sentences that had “because” in them, because I couldn’t work out how to spell it, I do the same with drawing - If I’m not so good at something I just stick to what I know can look effective and bluff my way into nicer looking images.
Well, skirting over something is one way to depict it, if you see what I mean - that is, you’ve found a solution, which is all drawing ever is.
That said, I keep meaning to add a ‘possible topics for posts’ field to my contact form.
