    Weekend draw: Dreams

Dream of drinks and tartsWhat did you dream last night? Can you draw it? Let us all see into your subconscious!

I am writing this on Friday night and hoping I might have nice dreams of drinks and tarts. Could happen…

Here’s the round-up for the week. Do feel free to go back and comment – the threads are still open.

    > On Monday, I posted about patterns.
    > On Tuesday, I talked of leaving out irrelevant detail.
    > But by Wednesday, I conceded that a detailed picture can suit some people’s style really well.
    > On Thursday, I tried to convince you that even if you’re not great at the science of drawing, you can still make good pictures.
    > And on Friday, I cobbled together my thoughts on watercolour..

Have a good weekend, and don’t forget to draw your dreams!

Funny how dreams which seem as though they would be visually appealing to a barely-awake brain turn out to be terrible ideas after breakfast! Also I’m quite capable of dreaming things that are beyond my current drawing skills–two hundred skeletons in a swimming pool is just not happening.

But I did manage to get one good image for a picture: a baby dragon with umbrella.

Fantastic - where else would you ever have had the idea for that? I am envious, though - I never dream of such cuteness (not quite as envious of the skeletons. Whatever have you been reading?).

Er–playing computer games of the smiting-evil genre, actually.

Funnily enough, the dragon wasn’t something I took much notice of in the dream! He was holding up his umbrella and blocking my view of what was going on; rather than being cute, he was a minor annoyance. But he inspired a drawing which I’m happy with, so all is forgiven.
