Weekend draw: food
As regular readers will know, Saturdays are when we all get together and draw the same thing, and then come back here to show our pictures off and notice differences or similarities between them.
(This picture is so unlike my usual ones - funny that we were talking about style this week. There are things I like about it, and lots I don’t. Click to see the whole picture).
Talking of noodles, if you have time to noodle around this site for a little longer, you might be interested to know that a couple of interesting points have come up in reaction to recent posts. So, as well as my usual weekly round-up, I’ll point you in the direction of those, too.
> On Monday, I shared some great art created by a two-and-a-half- year-old, and urged you to find your inner child. The comments are worth reading there because one of our greatest contributors, Rachel, not only gave some sterling advice about brushes in Photoshop (and promised to contribute a tutorial soon!), but also found a fantastic website that would be easier for kids to use than Photoshop is.
> On Tuesday, I tried to get everyone drawing with make-up, silver foil, soy sauce, coffee, tea -whatever you have close at hand. Fun! But I want everyone to go and read the comments to that post, as well, because Kake linked to what I thought was just a beautiful picture, drawn on silver foil. She begged to differ. What do you think?
> On Wednesday, my question was simple: what is style? Fred had some great anecdotes to relate. If you want to add to the debate, go ahead: the post is still open, although remember that in a fight against spam I am currently closing posts to comments after a week or two.
> On Thursday, we indulged in some perfectly legal voyeurism, and there was a chance to hear me wittering on about this website on the radio.
> And on Friday, I got everyone to go back to their angsty teenage years and stick a picture of Kurt Cobain onto an envelope. Or something.
And that brings us right up to date. Enjoy your weekend!

“One of our greatest contributors”… aww that iz meee ^.^ Hehe.
Food is fun to draw, so I drew….

BROWNIES :D
I tell you what, drawing yummy stuff is hard, I so wanted it by the time I’d finished! That’s why the bottom one looks a bit funny… I kind of had a bit before I’d finished the drawing =/ Hehe.
They weren’t that great though. Shop bought Brownies
Ha ha, that’s a coincidence: my husband had bought brownies and I couldn’t turn down his offer. But I know what you mean, there’s no point in eating a bad brownie. Also, I felt the same about the bagel. I’d better draw something I don’t actually want to eat, next time.
Hi! I’ve been following along for a few weeks now since being given the link, and I’m finding that most of your advice is just what I need to hear, and most of your tasks are things I’d been planning to try eventually. In short, this is on the right wavelength at the right time, and I wanted to drop a note and say thanks.
This task is right up my alley. I love drawing food, especially fruit and vegetables, so it’s time for me to get on board. I’m not the most savvy on HTML and technological stuff (though I’m hoping to learn eventually) and the best I can manage is a link to my drawing of some fruit. Hope that works…
Hi Pebblerocker, it’s great to hear from you, and to know that you are enjoying Drawnayway. I’m sorry that you chose to leave your comment just at a time I’m having technical problems with the site…! Oh dear. But your link worked fine and I enjoyed looking at your pears. And the title you gave it.
